This neutral zone face off play is designed to get the puck to the center with speed as they enter the zone. As you will see in the game clip below the Bosto Bruins use it well against the Buffalo Sabres as whent he Sabres are trying to hold the blue line aggressively.  The key is to win the face-off back cleanly back to the defense.  The puck needs to go D to D and the defense need to get the puck outside the dots to stretch the ice as much as possible.  The defense then needs to hinge the puck back to the middle of the ice.  The center, after they win the face-off,  need to circle back to the opposite side of the ice and time their break so they recieve the pass from the defense just before they enter the zone.  Check out the game clip below.  The Boston Bruins execute this play perfectly and it results in a scoring chance.
