The is a 5 on 3 Power Play set play. In this animation and diagram we use two right handed shots and three left handed shots but it can really work either way depending on how you want to use the player in front of the net. The play starts with the right handed player at the side of the net. They make a pass to the right handed player at the blue line. The puck is then moved to the other left handed player at the blue line. This player makes a quick pass to the left handed player at the side of the net and then goes to the net hard calling for the puck and getting attention from the penalty killers. The right handed defensive player that made the second pass fills the space of the left handed defense after they go to the net and get the puck back from the left handed player at the side of the net. In order to give the shooter a better chance of scoring it is important that the player fake a shot and then make the quick pass through the box. If they sell the shot well then the shooter should have an open net. If not, good goalies will be able to get across and challenge the shot.
