This race requires good agility and quick, efficient transitions from backwards to forwards and forwards to backwards.

Set Up

Place the tires / cones in a triangle formation as shown in the diagram. The tires should be placed about 1.5 stick lengths apart. Place two equal lines of players on each side for the coach at the blue line.

How to Race

Players skate forward to the first tire, transition backwards, backwards to the 2nd tire, transition to forward, skate forward to the 3rd tire, transition backwards, backwards in a semi-circle to the 2nd tire, open the hips and transition to forwards and battle for the puck.
