This purpose of this drill is to help players understand timing and support in the neutral zone. Forwards should line up just above the hash marks along the boards in one end.  The defense are lined up at the opposite blue line on the same side of the ice.  To start the drill one forward need to start on the opposite side of the ice at the bleu line and two defense start at the blue line.  To start, F2 carries the puck a few strides and passes to D1.  D1 starts the drill by skating up ice, transitioning backwards and receiving a pass from F2.  D1 controls the puck and makes a pass to D2 who has also transitioned backwards.  F1 (the weak side forward) needs to skate all the way back and provide support to D2.  They should skate inside to outside while facing the puck at all times.  F2 needs to time their break into the middle of the ice to receive the pass from D2 at a good angle and then make another good pass to F1 who has speed through center ice.  F1 should attack the blue line inside to outside with speed and drive hard to the net for a shot.  After F2 makes the pass they become the weak side winger and the next forward in line start the drill again by making a pass to D1.  The drill then continous this way.  The defense should take 3 to 4 reps each before switching out.  The emphasis for the defense is to keep their feet moving at all times while controlling the puck and making good passes.
