This hockey drill is the first in a series of drills for forwards in the offensive zone.  This is the first and most basic drill that focuses on shots from the slot area, stopping at the net, exploding to the corner to get a loose puck, and feeding the next player in the slot.  To set up, place the pucks in the center of the ice just outside the blue line with two lines of players on each side (as shown).  The first player in line start the drill carrrying a puck into the slot and taking a shot.  The player should focus on shooting while moving their feet.  After the shot they stop at the net for a rebound before exploding into the corner to get the puck dumped in by the coach.  Once they get control off the puck they keep their feet moving up the boards and look to pass the puck to the next player from the other line.  The pass should be into the high slot so the player can gain control of the puck and work on shooting while moving their feet.  F2 should not break into the high slot until F1 has control and has their head up ready to make the pass.
