High Slot Shot, Turnover into 1 vs. 1

?This drill is meant to challenge defense.  It is a good one to work on their full speed backward skating, transition, and shots from the high slot.  If you have enough players you can run this drill out of both ends just make sure players stay on their half of the ice on the 1 on 1 portion of the drilll.

Makes Sense

That makes a lot of sense.  Plus a few more touches on the puck never hurts.  

timing

To help with timing of this drill I have my Forwards pass a puck to the D after the D shoots and the D then pivots as he passes it back to the Forward who then starts skating up ice against the D. A give-and-go of sorts. This also helps the D get his head up right after the shot and looking for the pass.
